Molly is a bright and friendly Poodle and Golden Retriever mix. She is currently in training for hearing dog work.

Jollie is in training as a Hearing Dog. She also does agility.

Nicky was a collie mix. He was Linda's first hearing dog. Nicky is the dog that started it all. He was wonderful at his work and he had all of the best traits of his breed. He worked for many happy years prior to his death of natural old age.

Dominic has worked with Linda for 13 years. He is an outstanding example of a Hearing Dog. His response to sound has even saved Linda's life on two separate occasions.

He loves his work.

Terrier breeds can make good Hearing Dogs.

Terriers as a breed group are active. They are alert and can make excellent Hearing Dogs.

Not all dogs are suited for Service Dog work.

Dogs are like people. Each one is different and each one enjoys different things. Some dogs, after many months of work, are found to enjoy other types of careers. This one, though wonderfully trained and very solid, was found to be more suitable for search and rescue tasks.

Hearing Dogs need good temperament.

Hearing dogs come in all sizes. The size of the dog is less important than the ability to respond to sound. The dog pictured here is a rescued miniature pinscher. He works within his human partner's home by waking her to the morning alarm clock as well as alerting to the smoke alarm, oven timer and microwave. Not all hearing dogs work in public.
